Snowflakes & Faux Fur

We took a nice little trip up to Colorado a couple weeks ago that my sweet Jeremy surprised me with for my 27th birthday. We had such a wonderful time eating our way through each city and shopping at the most adorable little stores. The day before we left they had a huge snow fall that was so gorgeous. I will forever cherish the memories we had on this fun trip, thanks so much for planning it J. It was beyond perfect! Oh and did I mention the crepes' because the crepes were amazing!! If I lived there I would literally gain a pound a day because I would eat them all the time!

Abstract DIY Christmas Ornaments

Christmas is next week and so that can only mean one thing! It is time for some last minute gifts or a cute little accessories that you can adorn on top of all your pretty wrapped packages! This fun DIY is brought to you by Kayla Weber a great artist based out of the Kentucky area. She was kind enough to share her process with us of these adorable christmas ornaments that she sells in her adorable shop found here. I hope you all enjoy this and have a very Merry Christmas!

 photo image3 1.jpg
 photo diy20ornaments1.jpg
Step One:

These are all of the supplies you will need to create your very own DIY painted ornament. You can chose any colors and color combination you would like, I usually go with about 3 colors + white! Any kind of acrylic paint will work. Basics is a very medium priced and good quality paint, but any kind will do. You will also need an acrylic sealer/finisher (any brand will do). You will need a couple smaller brushes- whatever you are comfortable with. I like a flat square brush and a skinny pointy brush for both designs of ornaments. You will need scissors and string. All of these supplies can be found at Michaels!

Step two:

After you’ve decided on colors, you can make a palette of paint and begin painting. You will need to decide which type of design you want. There is a zig-zag brushstroke, or a swipe brushstroke.

Zig-Zag Ornament:
Begin by starting with one color and paint randomly around the ornament in a zig-zaggy brushstroke. It does not have to be perfect! Just make sure it gets skinnier and pointier towards the top and bottom of each stoke. I usually do a sort of “M” shape or upside down “V” shape. The zig-zaggy design will almost come together like a puzzle of brushstrokes, and it is fine to leave some of the pearl colored ornament showing through. I added black dots onto the gold brushstrokes to add almost a cheetah print. This can be done with the small pointy brush, once the gold has dried.

 photo diyornaments3.jpg
Swiped Ornament:
The swipe brushstroke is the easier of the two designs, and is done the same way. Start with one color and swipe side to side, up and down, all over the ornament. Some strokes can be short, some longer. Wait in-between colors, so that they dry and then you can overlap some strokes. Try to make your strokes go all different directions.

Step three

Continue with each color until you have filled the whole ornament. Tie on your string carefully and then let it dry by hanging it up, or by placing it back in the white container.

Step four

After about 20 minutes it should be dry enough to seal. Spray it with the sealer or finisher, then let dry again. Hang on your tree and enjoy!!

Home Body + Comfort Items Gift Guide

Woo Hoo! My holiday gift guide number two is up and ready to shop. This gift guide is made for those girls in your life that love to be cozied up at home most of the time. Even if your friend isn't much of a homebody these gift are fool proof. I mean who doesn't love putting on a fresh new pair of pjs or yummy new candle to light! I myself have always been a home body, I love getting out as well but there is nothing like an evening spent at home with your family in some comfy pajamas and of course I don't go anywhere without my ugg house shoes. I threw in a couple other stocking stuffer items that would make great gifts as well! Hope you enjoy!
Home Body Gift List

This makes a great little gift for that at home baker or maybe something a little extra to pair with a pretty plate full of yummy chocolate chip cookies to drop off at a friends house or take to a holiday party!

I am loving the bright pink color of this towel, it's a great way to add a pop of color to anyones home. I also love the idea of getting it monogrammed for a small gift you could give to your bible study girls or wrap it up with a pretty candle and you've got the perfect gift.

What else can I say about these other than they are a must have and are perfection. A dear friend of mine gifted me these years ago and I have been hooked ever since! I wear them constantly and they are even nice enough I think to wear to the grocery store!

This pillow case makes the perfect gift item for really anyone but especially that homebody in your life. They will love curling up to this gorgeous pillow or placing it in a pretty side chair to admire. I personally have 4 throughout my house. I am seriously addicted, they go with everything and I get so many compliments on them all the time! I purchase down pillow inserts online in the size 21-22 so they have an extra full plush effect.

So I work from home and I want to have something that is still cute and fashionable but something that is also really comfortable. I pair them most of the time with black leggings and I'm good to go. These make such a great gift item as each one is one of a kind and hand distressed to give it that unique look! I have not met one person who doesn't love these!

I love this fun phone printer! I mean who doesn't like a cute small photo that they can display on their fridge or desk. It's a really great item for those people who you just doesn't know what to get. This item also would work for both a boy or girl as anyone could enjoy this gift!

How adorable are these customizable napkins I think they are just to die for! These would be so adorable paired with a nice bottle of champs or wine!

Who doesn't love a good eye mask! I know I do! I am such a light sleeper plus our bedroom has like 50 million windows and it can get super bright in the morning so this is a much have!! This would be so cute paired with a comfy pair of pjs or even some nice bubble bath soap & lotion! Great for those homebodies in your life!

OMG I seriously could live in this cozy wrap! Its great for traveling or taking to the movies, it also works great for just snuggling up with at home! This is a great gift for anyone and all ages.. I mean who doesn't love something super soft and cozy!

How adorable is this little guy! I don't know how anyone could not like him. It's great for displaying on your coffee table or by your bedside for any small jewelry you might take off before heading to sleep!

I have these and I love them!!! They are the softest things ever and are great for those who maybe don't love to sleep in warm pajama pants or those who maybe live in a warmer climate!

I love these pajamas, they are so super soft and come in nice classic colors. They are great for yourself or for any lucky lady in your life.

I have these as well... I'm kind of a pajama junky! I always joke that I have more pajamas than a normal girls shoe collection! I got these in the red polka dot pattern, I thought it was perfect for the holidays! They are seriously like butter and would make a great christmas gift for anyone especially for that new momma or homy body in your life. Plus for a more higher end brand these are priced really well for the set!

I am loving the flowy fit of this pullover. It's super cozy and can be paired with some skinny jeans or sweats depending on where you're going! It's a great gift item as well if you are unsure of what size to get someone since it has a nice oversized comfy fit! Love this!

So the last two items on my list are two candles that are in my favorite scent from Anthropologie. It's there famous Capri Blue scent and I am just loving this cute pineapple one! Once the candle is burnt out it can easily be washed and used for a cute decor item or jewelry holder!

Once again this is my favorite scented candle and its great because it comes in numerous different sizes depending on how big or little you're wanting your gift to be!! The jars are so gorgeous as well when mine are burned out I save them and get them filled with new candle wax at a local candle shop! Or just use them to hold your lipsticks or cotton balls in your bathroom!

I hope y'all enjoyed this list and maybe it helped give you some ideas for this upcoming holiday season!!

Fashion Lovers Gift Guide 15'

With the holidays right around the corner I'm determined this year to get organized and start my gift buying early. I will be posting a few different gift guides this year as a way to share some of my favorite finds as well as maybe give you some good ideas for the lucky ladies & men in your life! First up is for those fashionistas in your life! Rather they are a working woman, jet setter, or just your bff, I guarantee you there is something for them on this list. I tried to find really classic pieces that you can customize to their taste or personalize it with monogramming which I think is always fabulous!
1. Blush Classic Felt Hat from J Crew (currently on sale)
I have this hat and love it! It goes with tons and will literally never go out of style! I'm loving this pale pink color for fall and winter.

2. Jetsetter Cosmetic Case in the color Taupe from Henri Bendel
Everyone is always needing a new good makeup bag and I love the neutral color of this one plus it has the option of being monogrammed which I think is always great and adds a personal touch. Its also currently on sale so and even bigger bonus!

3. Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Rollerball
Being on the go or just traveling on a fun trip, its always great to have your favorite fragrance on hand but in a small easy to throw in your purse size! Marc Jacobs - Daisy Dream will forever be my favorite smell but these small sizes come in numerous different fragrances.

4. S'well Bottle in Noir Zebra Pattern
This is a great item for anyone on the go or when heading to work out ect. It literally keeps your drink hot or cold all day. This thing really works and who wouldn't want their drink ice cold all day or their coffee hot when they are needing that mid day pick me up! I do! I do!

5. Snow Swept Scarf from The Happy Goose Shop
Scarves are always an easy go to gift item. I mean who doesn't like a new scarf especially when its like this one and can be doubled as a shawl. I love that it is big enough that if its cold out you can wrap yourself up in it! Its available it two different color options.

6. Prada Textured Leather Card Case in Black
So this is defiantly a splurge item but I feel like it's a piece you will have forever and who doesn't need a little card case to throw in their small purse or grab when they are running into the grocery store. Rather its for you, your bestie or momma its for sure a home run item!

7. Cheetah Print Fold Over Clutch
So I'm sure by now you have found yourself drooling over Clare V's leopard clutch but I know for some people it is a very big splurge. Rather you have that one or decide on this similar option each one is so beautiful on its own and really can be paired with any and all outfits! This is a great option for any woman in you life. Leopard is the new black people and I am not one bit mad about it! Who is with me! :)

8. Kate Spade Gold Stripe Thermal Mug
I am loving this cute on the go mug option and how cute would it be filled with your friends favorite candy or sweet treat.

9. Marble iPhone Case
Loving this simple take on the marble trend... that by the way I'm hoping never goes out! Anyone and  everyone can always use a new iPhone case!

10. Travelers Floppy Hat in the color Cranberry
I am so in love with this pretty cranberry color for this fall and winter! It goes great with almost everything and makes a great gift item at a very reasonable price point!

11. Clare V. Card Case
Another card case for the win and these have a much more reasonable price as well as pattern options to choose from.

12. Prada Saffiano Business Card Holder
Loving this more neutral color for another option for a card holder. Use it for your business cards or to hold just a credit cards before heading out the door! It's super practical and will forever be a classic design!

13. Clare V. Simple Tote
I have loved this beautiful tote for quite sometime now! It would make a wonderful gift for any stylish lady in your life. I loveeee that you can monogram it in a pretty gold color. I think it adds such a nice personal touch! It can easily be worn as a cross body as well as a tote so its great for any needs someone may have! It's a show stopper for sure!

14. Everyday Leather Tote
If the Clare V. option above is a little out of your price range then this is another really great option and it has the choice of monogramming as well. It's also large enough that you can fill it with anything and everything which is always a plus!

15. Savona Stud Earrings in White/Gray from Furbish Studio
How fun are these? I love that they are keeping with the marble trend but can easily be worn with a t-shirt and jeans or dressed up with a pretty outfit for the holidays!

16. Large Cheetah Print Tassel Keychain
I am so in love with these large calf hair tassels! They are a great price point and would make such a fun stocking stuff or gift for any lucky lady in your life! Who would want this little cutie to dress up their keychain! I'll take one as well please!

17. Vivid Zip Card Case
I know I know your probably getting sick of the card cases but I just think they are such a great gift option and how cute would it be to put a gift card to one of their favorite places in one of the little pockets for them to find when they open it. I also wanted to give y'all an array of options and price points! I of course love this option as well, it has a small zipper pouch unlike the others and a key ring if you want to connect it to your keys or purse strap... and duh the monogramming once again! You can't go wrong! I think my favorites are the White, Black & Orange!

I hope each of you enjoyed this as well as got you in the Christmas spirit.
Tis the season for giving!
Enjoy Friends!
xoxo

Take me to the Disco

So something I will forever have a special place in my heart for is tie dye... I know I know it may not be considered in style or fashionable but it just is what it is. When I was younger and halloween would come around I was a hippie more times than I can remember. There is just something so fun about the bright happy colors and flowy fabrics of that decade that I will always swoon over. We recently got these bell bottoms in at The Happy Goose Shop and I just couldn't wait to wear them out. They are so comfy with a lightweight cotton feel and I'm in love with the fun flare out at the bottom. I think I'm officially kinda sort of obsessed with bell bottoms now. I cannot stop shopping for them online now. I paired them with this simple top thats available at the shop as well and it made for a great slightly dressed up look that I wore to a dear friend of mines baby shower. I hope you all are enjoying this cool fall weather and getting your home filled with tons of pumpkins and binging out on trick or treat candy! Happy Friday friends now I'm off to do the luxurious job of laundry.

Seriously Obsessed Sunday: Ginger Jars

Ginger Jars

Ok so as we are slowly adding more pieces to our home and filling the shelves with all our favorite books and nick nacks. As I have been doing this I have realized I have a real obsession... I love ginger jars! I have collected them for a while now, but I am really loving the pop of crisp blue paired with all the neutral whites and grey tones that are through out our house! I have a small shelve off to the right of our kitchen where I keep a small collection of them displayed. (Photo Shown Below)

A Few of my Favorite Things...

I'm sure if you could ask anyone, what are some of your favorite must have things? They would instantly have a little list that pops into their head. I thought it would be fun today to share a few of mine. These are going to be items that are besides the obvious things in life that we truly couldn't live without like our dogs, family, friends, chocolate and you can't forget champagne of course. These are going to be little things that just truly make you smile or are simple everyday items I enjoy using! I'd love to hear some of yalls favorite things as well so feel free to list them in the comments bar below or lets chat on Instagram you can find me @thehappygoose

 photo IMG_7769.jpg

First up Lipstick's:
With fall just around the corner anything Pink, Cranberry or Red is a must! Some of my favorites are Nars: Fanny, Nars: Heat Wave and Mac's: Candy Yum Yum

Favorite all time Fragrance:
This for sure has to be Marc Jacobs - Daisy Dream, its so light and fresh with also a sweet hint! I love it. It seriously took me years to find a fragrance I liked as all of them would either make me have a headache or wouldn't stick throughout the day but this one is a winner! Plus I mean how adorable is that bottle.

Statement Necklaces:
This is always a big one for me once fall comes around. In the summertime it's so hot that I can't wear very chunky jewelry but once the cool weather rolls in I love a good statement necklace and arm stacks piled high. I linked a few of my favorites here, here and here.

Makeup bag's:
A small makeup bag for my purse is also a must, it has to be something not to big but not to small. I also love anything monogrammed so I had to include this adorable leather pouch with my initials LN that are in gold. I also listed some of my other favorites here, here and here.

Nail Polishes:
I love a good fresh mani! There is nothing that drives me crazier then when my nails are chipped and looking yucky. I try to do an at home mani at least once a week usually on Tuesday or Wednesday when I'm catching up on emails and my tv shows. Two on my go to polishes are Essie's - Marshmallow & Essies : Chinchilla... These are perfect for all year round and go with anything!

Notepad:
Ok so did anyone else get so excited to go school supply shopping when they were little, because I did and I still do! Like why is it so fun to get new notepads and pens? Someone please explain this to me and don't even get me started on the sharpie isle!! I love always having a small notepad on hand rather it be one I keep in my car or my purse its just great to always have one for writing down ideas, grocery lists, errands for the day.. ect. Here & here are some cute options I found online. I also think target always has really cute ones as well!

Stationary:
I love writing thank you notes, I just think this day and age with texts and emails it's so fun and heartfelt to receive a nice hand written letter. Rather it be a thank you note or just a random hope you're doing well, I always love having cute cards on hand! Here are some of my favorites.
ONE / TWO / THREE / FOUR

The list could go on and on but these are some of my must haves! I hope y'all enjoyed it and let me know if there is any other blog posts y'all would like to see in the future!
Happy Wednesday Friends. Big hugs!
