Everyone has there Own Path

"Listen for God's voice in everything you do and
everywhere you go; He's the one that will keep you on track."
 -Proverbs 3:6

All my life I've always felt like I'm on a journey or path that most people may not understand.
I get a lot of people always asking me what are you doing now, are you married, where are you working, what college did you go to. My answer usually leaves people a little at loss for words or you get a reply of oh that's neat. The truth is I didn't go to college, I could have if I wanted but I never felt that it was the right thing for me. I didn't fill out one college application my senior year of high school, I have never even seen a SAT or ACT. I am not married, not engaged and I'm ok with that. I have been with Jeremy for as long as I can remember and I know he is committed to me (our story here) and we are waiting till we are ready. I just quit my full time job about a month ago, I felt in my heart that I was being called in a different direction.

Now when I say this I often get a confused looked or a long pause,
most people think your suppose to go to college, meet your soul mate, get married, have babies and live happily ever after. I'm sure they think I am naive or "I don't live in the real world", but if you're not doing what you feel in your heart is right then I don't want to "live in the real world".
If everyone's story was the same then what would we be the fun in that.

I believe God has something great planned for my life,
I will have a fulfilled life full of what I was put on this earth to do.
If that's dumb then call me dumb.

I will trust in God to provide for me the things he is calling me to do.
Yes I'm only 23 and I do admit at times I wish I did already have it all figured out or what I was suppose to do would just be plopped right in my lap. But that just must not be his plan.
Yes I was scared when I quit my job, it was my security, this was me and J's plan to save up for the house we've always wanted.
It's so crazy to me though that I have never felt a more calming sense of peace for where I'm at,
I fell content and I feel sure that what I am doing is the right thing.

I must trust in God to give me the right answers.

"God desires for us to live with a deep contentment in our hearts,
but we can only experience this when we embrace
His plan for our lives."

Guilty Dog

This is one of my all time favorite videos.
I laugh so hard every time I watch it.

Why do you blog?

A lot of people have been asking me this question recently and so I thought it would be fun to write a post about it. Most of the people who have asked this are people in my home town who have started reading and this is their first blog they have ever followed. When I first started reading blogs years and years ago, there were times when I would think how much time does this take from peoples lives... Whats the point? Knowing nothing at the time about following blogs, starting friendships with your readers, and just having this wonderful support system of smart, funny women who at times you think, man, I bet we would be great friends if we lived by each other! I never knew about this whole big wonderful blogging world, it's inspiring and powerful and makes you want to be a better person.
It makes you want to DO MORE!

I had debated for about a good year or so if I wanted to create a blog.
Would I have time to devote to it if I was working full time?
What would my blog be about?
 Would anyone even read?

So I talked to Jeremy about it and he was just like go for it, do it for yourself.
That's when it hit me Do it for yourself!
If I started this blog with the intentions of doing it for myself, and along the way people liked it then that would just be and extra bonus. I wanted my blog to be a way for me to document this wonderful life, so if one day I wanted to look back it would be there.
I wanted it to be another way to express my love and gratefulness to my family and friends.
I wanted it to be something that would make people smile and feel good after they read it,
the way I felt after reading some of my favorite blogs.
I wanted to write about things that are very special to my heart.
I wanted people to feel inspired to do more!
I haven't been doing this that long but its amazing the people I have already met or got the chance to talk to. I have become friends with so many wonderful people that I otherwise probably would not have got the chance to meet. Everyone is so sweet and full of nothing but positive support. I love that blogging also gives you more opportunity's to bless people even if its just praying for them or sending them a little message saying hey I'm thinking about ya today I hope all is well.
It really does mean more to people than you'll probably ever know!
I am so thankful to all my new sweet friends, y'all are amazing.

Speaking of great people...
Tomorrow is the Dallas Shine event!
Ashley & Casey are putting it on. I'm going, are you?

Hope everyone has a happy weekend!
Kindness always.

With all this beautiful weather, our summer swim season started yesterday. The dogs have been dieing to get into the pool and yesterday we let them! I will also let everyone know my mom's eyes are doing good and have finally healed (read what happened here). Last night she made mashed potatoes and this time she played it safe and put a lid over them plus her trusty safety goggles (thanks for sending these Allena, we got a good laugh out of them).

Sick Day

This poor angel had a little minor day surgery today. He had a small tumor come up on his right ear about a month ago, it was only the size of about an M&M but it was slowly getting bigger and our vet advised us to go ahead and get it removed. So this Big Boy isn't feeling to good.
It is all snuggles and kisses at our house today.

Chick Flick for Two Chicks

Me and my Mom went on a little early Valentines Day date for two!
We've been diving to see this movie "The Vow" it came out this Friday, and so that's just what we did.
Its based off of true events and it was such a great little love story, I highly recommend it.
I would also like to share the fact that I am super proud of myself,
I didn't shed one single tear.
We ate tons of popcorn, laughed, and picked up some extra
sweet treats at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory afterwards.
All in all it was a great little day.
Thanks for being my date mom... I have to say your quite the catch!
Lets have more days like this.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Tell someone ya love em'

My Daddy
aka: Rob, Pops & Grandpa to Jagger and Lucy

He's always been one of my biggest supporters in all the crazy things I come up with!
He's one of the sweetest men I know, and he can give you one of the biggest warm bear hugs you'll ever have! He has been the best dad a girl could ask for and I don't know what I would do without him!

Did you know:
His real name is Robin but he goes by Rob.
He grew up in San Antonio.
He's the one when I was little who gave me the nickname Goose.
He just recently got rid of his old flip phone from the 1900's and joined the 20th Century
with his new I-Phone
He's got a soft spot for my sweet Jagger boy, they have a special little bond it's quiet cute to watch.
He loves any movie with Denzel Washington
He once had a Kidney stone the size of an Almond M&M.
He loves sweet tea
He calls my mom "The Warden"
He's a master on the Grill
He sang to my mom "Your Sweet Love " By Don Williams when he proposed
He would help anyone if they asked him.
And last but not least, he will always be more than happy to sharing a cup of milk and Oreo's with ya

You could definitely say I am a Daddy's girl, I'm so blessed to have gotten to grow up with such a wonderful dad. It's also neat to see that even as we both get older we seem to have even more things in common!
Basically he's a pretty cool dude.
I love you dad, You're the man!

Pioneer Woman's Blackberry Cobbler

This is definitely one of my most favorite recipes!
Not only is it super easy and fast but its really yummy and tastes like its taken you a lot longer to make! Whenever my mom or I make this for the family it is gone by the end of the night. The original recipe calls for Blackberry's and its good but I prefer Peach's, you could really use any fruit you want but my favorite is definitely the Peaches!!

You will need:

 1 cup Milk
1 stick Butter
1-1/4 cup Sugar
1 cup Self-Rising Flour
2 1/2 cups Peaches (frozen Or fresh)

First butter your pie pan!! Very generously!!

Measure out 1 cup of Sugar and 1 cup of Self Rising Flour, now mix it well together!

Add in your 1 cup of Milk, and it will be clumpy at first but whisk it up really good
till its smooth like the consistency of pancake batter!

Now Melt your 1 stick of Butter and pour it into the Cobbler mixture!
Mix! Mix! Mix!

Now that everything's mixed up good, poor that puppy into the pie pan!!

Get your Peaches... or fruit of choice I use Frozen Peaches you could use fresh but this is just easier!!
And we like easy!! Chop them up into little pieces, you will want about 2 1/2 cups of chopped peaches!

Now sprinkle those pretty little orange pieces all over the top or your Cobbler mixture, and sprinkle your extra 1/4 cup of sugar over the top of your peach pieces!

Place in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 whole hour, yes I know you will have to wait for ONE WHOLE HOURRR that is the worst part about this recipe but I promise you it will be worth it!

When it's finallyyy done sprinkle an extra tablespoon of sugar over the top! You can serve it up in a big ole' bowl just the way it is or slap some yummy vanilla ice cream or whip cream over the top!!
Dig in while its hot...
You can thank me later!

Happy Baking!

New Beginning's

Its been quite the week!
A lot has been going on around here!
For starters last Friday was my last day at my job... It has been something I was struggling with for a while and after lots of prayer, opportunity's have came about that I just can't pass up.
It was very bittersweet... because on one hand I absolutely love everyone I worked with and all the lovely ladies who I get to help each day but on the other hand I have really had this calling in my heart that I am needed somewhere else, and I believe when god is calling you to do something you must listen! I have always had a special place in my heart for children but, my Sophomore year of high school a good friend of mine told me about the story of the Invisible Children organization in Africa.
There website is here. Ever since then I have had this huge ever growing place in my heart for Africa and the people in it. I am so excited that I am going to be getting the chance to do a little work with the Invisible children team and if all goes right they will hopefully be bringing a beautiful Ugandan survivor as well as their story to my hometown Church.
God is good and I know he has great things planned.
I am also so excited to be getting to do more of my Art, I haven't had much time in the past couple years or so but I have so many great ideas I've been storing up in a little journal for sometime now and I can't wait to actually have the time to work on some of them!
So then come's Saturday in honor of National Stand up to Cancer day...
Me, J, and my Mom got our cheeks swabbed for stem cells! We will now all be on the
National Stem Cell Registry for anyone in need of a Stem Cell Transplant! I'm praying for one of us to be able to help at least one person fighting this terrible battle! If all I have to do is donate a few stem cells to help someone feel a little bit better I will be more than happy to help all day long!
I think everyone's known or has known someone who has been affected by cancer and so this is just a little way we can give back. I will tell you though Jeremy was very sad to find out after the fact that he couldn't participate because he had to have a tissue donor for his knee surgery :(
But at least he was willing and tried!
Later that day we had to help his family move into their new house!

And then....
We got to watch this Sweet Little Angel!
Meet Jeremy's little nephew Aiden!
Isn't he just the cutest!
I could just kiss those sweet dimples all day!

We snuggled, ate Veggie Chips, shared a juicy juice and watched Dinosaurs!
I would say Saturday was a pretty good little day!
Sunday was of coarse stinky football! But we also had a little Momma drama!
Remember me telling you about her having her "Special Moments"... well we can add another one to the books! My Dad had barbequed chicken on the grill and my Mom's only job was to make mashed potatoes, seems easy enough huh? Well if you know my mom not so much! So she had just got done blending them all up and put them back on the stove to warm them up, well as she was stirring them a big air bubble of scalding hot potatoes flung up and splattered all in her eyes and on her eyelids. So all of a sudden she just starts yelling oh my gosh... oh my gosh.. so I ran over to her and it was hard not to laugh because I knew she was in pain but she literally had potatoes all over face and eyes. She's saying to me Lindsay can you see my eye does it look bad, but I'm like no.. no.. it doesn't look that bad but I really honestly can't even see her eye because it's still coated in a nice thick layer of white fluffy potatoes. So once she gets all the potatoes cleaned of her face and the night goes on the eyelids start to swell! She didn't want to go to the doctor because there was really nothing we thought they could do, plus we didn't want to have to wait in the ER! So she went to the doctor today and she has 2nd degree burns on her eyelids and both of her corneas have burns on them! So they gave her some eye drops, along with a couple other items!!
I mean who burns there eyes with mashes potatoes... only my Mom!!
But hey thanks Mom for making Superbowl sunday a little more entertaining!!

This week has been full of suprises and blessings all in one!
I am thankful for getting to do the things that make me happy.
And of coarse that my mom wasn't hurt too bad so that we can now look back and laugh!
Hehe Love ya Mom!
